Routine Dental Cleanings and Exams
Regular cleanings and exams allow your dentist to catch small issues before they become big problems. Plaque, tartar, and bacteria sneak into spots that brushing and flossing miss. When we clean your teeth, we remove buildup and help prevent cavities, gum disease, and even bad breath. Dr. Chan checks for early warning signs of oral cancer, gum infections, and enamel wear during the exam. These visits protect your smile and your overall health.

Modern Dental Cleaning Techniques
For decades, scraping of the tooth surfaces with sharp tools and ultrasonics, followed-up with a rubber cup polish have been the only option for dental cleanings. At Treat Dental, we have invested in modern, evidence-based care for healthier, more comfortable, and more effective results.
Guided Biofilm Therapy® (GBT)
- GBT uses Airflow® technology (warm water, air, and erythritol powder) and a Piezo ultrasonic scaler to gently remove biofilm, stains, and plaque above and below the gums.
- Minimal to no use of hand instruments (scraping).
- No rubber cup polish.
- Minimally invasive, comfortable, and more thorough than traditional methods. It is especially beneficial for patients with sensitive teeth, braces, and implants.
- Excellent at removing stains caused by food, beverages, and tobacco without causing abrasion to the enamel (unlike coarse prophy paste).
- GBT follows an eight-step protocol tailored to your specific needs, ensuring a more thorough and individualized approach to dental cleaning.
- Before the hygienist starts cleaning your teeth, she will apply a disclosing agent that acts as a roadmap of the biofilm. You will get to see what areas are being missed when brushing and the hygienist will know exactly where to target her Airflow spray.
- By focusing on biofilm management and education, GBT helps patients maintain better oral hygiene at home, leading to longer lasting results.

Kid-Friendly, Parent-Approved Care
Kids deserve dental visits that feel safe and comfortable. Our staff knows how to make children feel at ease in the chair. We recommend fluoride applications and sealants to help prevent cavities and strengthen young teeth. Parents appreciate that we use gentle techniques and a calm environment, free from the distractions of TV screens or noisy tools.
Creating a Calming Experience
Our office environment matters as much as our technology. We play instrumental versions of familiar songs for a relaxing backdrop. We keep instruments hidden from view until needed, so you don’t feel surrounded by equipment. Each provider sees only one person at a time, giving you undivided attention. Many patients tell us this approach makes their appointments more peaceful and less stressful.
Advanced, Modern, Complete Care
Dr. Chan blends advanced training with a whole-health philosophy to make even routine cleanings and exams feel elevated. Certifications in Guided Biofilm Therapy® (GBT) and soft tissue laser techniques sharpen our hygiene services, while expertise in digital esthetics, Invisalign®, and sedation care allow her to customize every plan. With tools like Exocad design software, digital impressions, and DSLR photographs, you get a clear view of your treatment before it starts. We treat more than teeth—we treat the whole person, creating care that’s precise, personalized, and designed just for you.
Longtime Staff, Lifelong Patients
Half of our staff has worked together for 40 years, creating trust and consistency that patients value. Many families have stayed with us for decades because they know we care about more than their teeth—we care about their experience.
