Cosmetic Dentistry
Professional dental procedures that are used to improve the appearance of teeth. In general, Dr. Chan will recommend these procedures be done after getting teeth and gums to a healthy and stable position. She may make exceptions, such as a need for quick bonding of a tooth before an upcoming event.
Smile Design
Smile design is simply the planning process for creating a new look to your smile! First, a series of photos and impressions will be taken. Dr. Chan will have an open discussion with you about your goals, concerns, and fears regarding changing your smile. Dr. Chan will then work behind the scenes to create a potential end result and the lab will fabricate a mock-up model. The second appointment will be a consultation with Dr. Chan where you will see the models and smile design plan. At this visit you will discuss any changes you would like to see. Once approved, prep work can begin for your new smile!
Cosmetic Bonding
Tooth colored filling material is added to your natural tooth to enhance the look or esthetics of one or several of your front teeth. This can be done to change the shape, size, and color of the teeth, including closing small gaps in many cases. Typically this can be done in a single appointment without numbing. If bonding will be done for several teeth, smile design will be required.
Porcelain Veneers
A minimal amount of your tooth is shaved down to make room for a thin porcelain shell to be bonded to the front of your tooth. Veneers can change the overall look of your smile, including the size, shape, color, and minor tooth movement illusion. This is a two step procedure in which you will have temporary resin veneers placed before your porcelain veneers are made by a dental lab. Veneers for more than one tooth will require smile design.
Invisalign Treatment
Dr. Chan is a trained Invisalign Provider. She can determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign treatment. Invisalign consists of removable clear trays that you change every 1-2 weeks and is an alternative to traditional metal braces with wire changes. It is used to correct crowded teeth, extra spacing between teeth, and most importantly a misaligned bite.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a simple process to break down stains and brighten up your teeth. Whitening does not correct all types of discoloration of the natural teeth. Keep in mind that dental work such as fillings and crowns do not change color with whitening products. Ask Dr. Chan what teeth whitening options are available at Treat Dental.
Enamel Reshaping
When a tooth needs a very fine adjustment, such as to even out the edge of a front tooth or to smooth a small chip or rough spot, Dr. Chan can use a polishing tool on the area. This is a quick procedure with no numbing required.
